The Neurotheology of Judaism with Andrew Newberg

Andrew Newberg, MD, is author or coauthor of Born To Believe, Kundalini Rising: Exploring the Energy of Awakening, How Enlightenment Changes Your Brain, How God Changes Your Brain, Neurotheology, Principles of Neurotheology, The Metaphysical Mind, The Rabbi’s Brain, Why God Won’t Go Away, and Words Can Change Your Brain.

Here he applies his neurotheological approach to the study and understanding of Judaism. He addresses issues of stress and mental health, intelligence, and religiosity among segments of the Jewish population. He shares the results of his extensive surveys of rabbis from the different Jewish denominations. He observes that these same principles also apply to the neurotheological study of other major world religions.

New Thinking Allowed host, Jeffrey Mishlove, PhD, is author of The Roots of Consciousness, Psi Development Systems, and The PK Man. Between 1986 and 2002 he hosted and co-produced the original Thinking Allowed public television series. He is the recipient of the only doctoral diploma in “parapsychology” ever awarded by an accredited university (University of California, Berkeley, 1980).
